After 30 min of reaction time, the absorbance of solution was read in a spectrophotometer set at 724 nm and concentrations were calculated by preparing a gallic acid standard curve. 2.6. Skin colour index Subjective rating of skin colour of guava fruit was done after 30 days storage on a 1–5 scale where: 1, <20% yellow; 2, 20–40% yellow; 3, 40–60% yellow; 4, 60–80% yellow; 5, >80% yellow.
